Before now, many believe vying for political office is all about the men while women are expected to sit back and cheer the men folk. Women seem to have taken the bull by the horn, as many are now interested in contesting for political seats.

Though there are enormous challenges for women who choose to test their popularity in the murky water of Nigerian politics, some Amazons are resolute in slugging it out with their male counterparts in politics.

LG Polls: We are set – female aspirants

Ahead of the local government election which will be held this coming Saturday in Lagos State, some of the female aspirants for Chairmanship position have said that they are ready for the election as they have all it takes to win.

In an interview with some of the aspirants, they bare their minds on how ready they are to effect positive changes in their local government areas if voted for. For Morenike Adeshina Williams, an All Progressive Congress (APC) aspirant representing Igando-Ikotun, she is one of the favoured candidates who got the automatic ticket to contest the local government election, she is said to be seeking a second term in office as Chairman.
