Impartiality and Non‑Discrimination Policy

1. Purpose

This policy ensures that all WARDC activities, services, and decisions are delivered fairly, without bias, and in full respect of the rights and dignity of every individual.

WARDC acts independently and without favouritism in all legal aid, advocacy, research, and programme activities. Decisions are based solely on objective criteria, professional standards, and the best interests of beneficiaries.

WARDC doesn’t discriminateminate on the basis of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, disability, health status, sexual orientation, nationality, migration status, socioeconomic background, or any other protected charactypical. All individuals are treated with equal respect and dignity.

All beneficiaries, including survivors and returnees, are supported in a confidential, safe, and respectful environment. Personal information is handled in line with WARDC’s Data Protection and Privacy Policy.

5. Staff and Partner Responsibilities

All staff, volunteers, consultants, and partners must uphold impartiality and non‑discrimination in their conduct, decision‑making, and interactions with beneficiaries and stakeholders.

Individuals involved in WARDC’s work must avoid situations where personal interests could influence professional judgment. Any potential conflict must be disclosed immediately.

Any person who experiences or observes discrimination, bias, or breach of impartiality may report it to WARDC management or the designated oOfficer. Reports will be handled promptly, confidentially, and without retaliation.

WARDC promotes ongoing training and awareness to strengthen impartiality, fairness, and inclusive practices across all programmes and operations.
